Terms of service

Your account

You need an account to use the app. You must be at least 13 years old, or older if the law where you live requires it, and you must give us a working email address. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping the devices that are signed in to it secure. One person per account; a band shares setlists by link, not by password.

Your content and uploads

Everything you put into the service stays yours: your song list, ratings, notes, setlists, and any file you upload. We take no ownership of it.

You grant us a limited license to store, copy, transmit, and display your content, only as needed to run the service for you and for the people you share a setlist with. That license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for backups, which age out within 30 days.

Rights in what you upload

You may upload charts, lead sheets, recordings, click tracks, and images only if you have the right to do so: work you created, work you licensed, work in the public domain, or copies you are allowed to make for your own practice under the law where you live. You are responsible for that judgment. Uploads are private to your account; the service never publishes, shares, or plays them to anyone else, and sharing a setlist shares song titles and artists, never your files or ratings.

If a rights holder notifies us that content in an account infringes their rights, we may remove it and, for repeat cases, close the account. Notices go to support@knowthetune.com and should identify the work, the material, and how to reach you.

Song data

Album art, metadata, and streaming links come from third-party sources (iTunes, MusicBrainz, the Cover Art Archive, Songlink, GetSongBPM). They are shown for identification and are used under those sources’ terms. We do not host or stream commercial recordings; streaming playback happens inside those services’ own players and under their rules.

Plans and payment

Free includes up to 25 songs and one setlist, with no time limit. Pro removes those caps and adds file storage (5 GB), playlist and CSV import, and setlist sharing. The current price and billing period are shown at the point of purchase in the App Store, Google Play, or on the web, and may change for future periods with notice.

• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel any time; access continues to the end of the paid period.
• Purchases made through Apple or Google are billed, refunded, and cancelled by them under their terms.
• Web purchases are processed by Stripe through RevenueCat. Refunds for web purchases are at our discretion, and we will not be unreasonable about it.
• One Pro subscription covers your account on every platform. Buying twice does not unlock anything extra; contact us and we will sort it out.
• If your plan lapses, your data stays. Songs and setlists above the Free caps become read-only until you either remove some or resubscribe.

Acceptable use

Do not:

• Upload content you have no right to upload, or content that is unlawful, harmful, or infringes anyone’s rights.
• Use the service to distribute copyrighted recordings or charts to others.
• Probe, scrape, overload, or interfere with the service or its APIs, or try to get around plan limits.
• Resell the service or share one account among several people.

Third-party services

The app links to and embeds players from Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube, and other streaming services, and can connect to Apple Music, Tidal, and YouTube to import playlists. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and their availability is theirs to change. The Rubber Band Library audio time-stretcher from Breakfast Quay is used under license for tempo and pitch control on your own recordings.

Our rights

The service, its design, code, name, and logo belong to Sprung Interactive LLC. You may use the app as intended and may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, or redistribute it except where the law allows. Feedback you send us may be used without obligation to you.

Warranty and liability

The service is provided as is and as available. We work to keep it running and your data safe, and we do not promise it will be error-free or uninterrupted. Keep copies of anything you cannot afford to lose; the CSV export exists for that.

To the extent the law allows, Sprung Interactive LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits, arising from the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or 50 US dollars if you paid nothing. Some places do not allow these limits, in which case they apply as far as they can.

Ending the agreement

You can end it at any time by deleting your account in the You tab, which removes your data as described in the privacy policy. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after telling you why where it is reasonable to do so. If we ever discontinue the service, we will give at least 60 days’ notice and keep the export working until the end.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Minnesota, and both of us agree to that venue. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.

Changes

We may update these terms. For changes that matter we will say so in the app at least 14 days before they take effect, and the date at the top will change. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.
